They can send a vehicle to pick you up from the railway station, which is handy. The hotel is about 100 meters past Manjulal on the way from the temple entrance, so it means walking a couple hundred meters farther to the temple than you would from some nearby hotels. For us, that trade-off was worth it for the clean rooms, courteous staff, prompt service, and decent food. Nice hotel, full stars!

The room was good and worth the money, and the bathroom was neat and tidy. That was about it. I hated the stay and felt ashamed to be in the room. The TV in the photo I uploaded wasn’t working, the wifi didn’t work either, and the power supply was very poor. The food was bad too. First they said they had biriyaani, then Pulao and fried rice, and five minutes later said all they had was meals. We ended up having dinner at another hotel. When I booked, I thought it would be a great trip, but then I wondered why my parents had booked this hotel.

The lift runs from the parking area to the rooms, so you can bring baggage straight up from ground parking, which is useful. Rooms were clean, and the staff gave good support. The old-style TV needs an update, but everything else was good and worth the money. I’ve stayed once, had a nice experience, and will come back to Kanoos.

The dinner took about 30 minutes to arrive after we ordered. The manager warned us about the wait beforehand, but that’s still a long time for a hotel calling itself 3 star, and the food was only average. We booked a superior room at Kanoos residency through make my trip for three people after reading the reviews, but the stay was disappointing. The hotel seemed understaffed and responses were very slow. The room had two single beds instead of the queen or king bed I expected, and no extra bed for the three of us. The safety locker was already locked when we checked in. I called reception twice, but nobody came to fix it. There was no ceiling fan, just central AC that took a while to cool the room, uncomfortable in Guruvayur’s year-round heat. The lighting was dim and some bulbs wouldn’t turn on. The rooms need a makeover. It was just about okay for one night, but I can’t call it a 3 star hotel, it feels more like 2 star. For that price, you could stay at Mayura Residency.
