They gave our place to someone else without telling us, even though they hadn’t cancelled our booking. Then we were moved far from the original location to Alpine homes. We thought it was an upgrade, but the new place felt haunted. In the middle of the night there was a rotten, foul sewage smell, and the property was new with practically nobody staying there. I honestly wouldn’t recommend going if you don’t want a traumatic, haunted experience. Looking back, the whole thing feels fishy, from the move to everything else.

There are three rooms in a converted ground floor of a house, right in the heart of the city, with cafes and restaurants nearby. The lack of ventilation and natural light is the main drawback. A strange smell hangs around the place and could bother some people. If you can put up with that, I’d recommend it.

A clean, fine place for a night, in a lovely convenient spot near the Brahmaputra river for a morning or evening walk. There’s no traffic or noise, but also no four-wheeler parking, balcony, or open space.

The location wasn’t the issue. The service was beyond pathetic. I booked this for my parents’ Kamakhya Temple trip, and there was no room boy available, no backup, and not even a cup or glass in the room. If they needed anything, there was nobody in the apartment to help, no owner, helper, or room boy. The owner kept the gates shut, with bikes all over the entrance, making it hard for older people to get in or out. My parents planned to leave at 5am for early darshan, but the gate was locked. I called the owner ten times; he answered after 30 minutes and came to unlock it. The washroom clogged and turned into a swimming pool after one person bathed. The pictures here are a scam, it looks nothing like them. Maybe things could have been managed if the owner had kept a room boy for service. There is supposedly one, but he comes and goes whenever he wants, and nobody actually sees him. Room cleanliness: **. Location: ***. Services: big ZERO. Owner’s attitude: ***.
