Gibbon Backpackers Hostel

The location is good, and I genuinely hope Mr. Javed has turned the place around by the time I visit again, if I ever do. I’m writing this at 3:30 a.m., wide awake and feeling unsafe. People were openly using what seemed like illegal substances, with no supervision or accountability. It seems Mr. Javed has handed the property over to whoever would run it, probably for quick money, without caring about guests’ experience. The beds were disgusting and infested with insects, making sleep nearly impossible. The walls looked less like a hostel and more like a run-down mental asylum. Nothing about the place felt aesthetic or bohemian to me, just poorly maintained, dirty, and depressing. Running a hostel should mean respecting the customers, the service, and the space. Travelers shouldn’t have to come all this way and deal with somewhere that feels so unsafe and unhygienic. I’m not trying to spread hate. I genuinely feel unsafe right now, though I would like to come back because the location is good. As it is, this place doesn’t deserve to be called a “backpackers” place.

The person managing the place was actually nice and helpful, but my experience was really bad. The beds, sheets, and walls were so dirty, the rooms were unclean, and there were insects in the beds. The walls gave off a very negative vibe. Everything needs serious improvement, and I wouldn’t recommend the hostel unless things get much better. I hope the management sees this and works on it. A clean bed without bedbugs is the bare minimum a hostel should provide, bhai. No hate, just an honest review.

I stayed here for one night after having been here 2 years ago. Back then it was a bit rundown, but the vibe was good. Now it’s uninhabitable and needs a serious upgrade. The place is badly infested with bed bugs, and even after a week since that night, my whole body is still covered with hundreds of bite marks.

The photos fooled me. The place was run down and the experience was shocking. It was dirty, with filthy beds. I stepped inside, paid, took one look around, and checked out. I almost didn’t bother writing a negative review, but wanted to warn people.
