Hotel Indiraj

The staff were polite and courteous, and the complimentary breakfast was good. My tea arrived almost cold, though, so they should serve it in flasks. The hotel is quite old fashioned, with small rooms and no elevator, and the washroom needs to be cleaner. The property needs renovation.

The room had no phone, the staff were indifferent, and the bathroom was in poor shape: dirty brown water came from the faucet and the shower didn't work. There was a strange cupboard smell that wouldn't go away. The beds looked nice, but I found tiny bed bugs all over them. After lying down for about 10 minutes, I had an allergic reaction. Never again.

The room itself was spacious, with a good bed, TV, and AC, though there was no mirror in it. The house is very old, and the pipes are too old as well. Because of poor boring, the water quality was so bad it wasn't even suitable for washing hands. Breakfast was advertised as complimentary, but in my four nights and five days there, I got it only once. Please compare the advertised breakfast and room photos with what you actually get.

For around ₹1000 a day, I'd recommend it. Service was prompt and professional, and the room was spacious with big windows. The bathroom was clean but a big letdown aesthetically. Only one towel was provided for two people, and we had to ask for it. You can't bring outside food, but you can order from the Hotel Kitchen. They offer some Indian and Chinese dishes and non-alcoholic drinks. The chicken curry was too sweet and heavy on onion for my taste, while the Chicken in Garlic Sauce was spicy, and we ordered it twice. Naan isn't available, but the roti is soft and good. Try the noodles instead of rice or fried rice.
