Hotel Shoolin Grand

Food was average and too pricey for what was offered. In-room dining had very few choices, and the breakfast buffet was pretty limited: just idli, puri and pulav. The chutney was too salty, sambar was fine, and there was no juice, fruit or salad. Coffee and tea were average. Cereal was available, but the milk arrived after we'd finished. Breakfast only starts at 8 am, so keep that in mind if you're heading out early for temples, beaches or other plans. The room was clean and check-in quick. AC was okay, but not very powerful. The so-called balcony faced an empty building just up close and was no use. At checkout, nobody even said thank you or offered help with my luggage, despite seeing me carry it myself.

Breakfast had a decent range, though a few more fresh options would help. Wi-Fi worked well throughout, and the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable. At Shoolin Grand, the room was clean, furnished well and spacious enough to relax in, with a comfortable bed and good housekeeping. The restaurant and lounge were well maintained too. Staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were smooth. Shops, restaurants and local attractions were easy to reach. A comfortable and convenient choice at a fair price for work or leisure.

The food quality is the best part here. The dishes were delicious, nicely prepared and full of flavor, and the service was good. It's a pleasant place for a meal or a stay, though the staff and manager were just okay.

The 4th-floor rooms were clean, neat and well maintained, while the 5th-floor rooms smelled and were poorly cared for. The chairs in the room were so bad nobody would want to sit on them. The morning-shift woman at reception seemed polite, but her behavior was rude. Food was okayish. If your budget is tight, you can stay here and adjust. If money isn't an issue, find a better hotel in Guwahati.
