Uttam Guest House

The property was free from crowds, and the hotel team served us with real care. They offer Assamese cuisine, and breakfast was free. A double AC room was listed at RS 1900 WITH GST, or RS 2134 WITH GST.

I had a theft in my room, and management seemed to care very little. Hotel staff also seemed suspicious. One night someone opened the window from outside and tried to get into the room. I shouted and called the staff, but they didn't care. If you stay here, your belongings are at your own risk. I’d advise anyone reading this to avoid the hotel.

The staff were among the best I've experienced. I booked through MMT for 700 and felt it was worth the price. Rooms are usually around 800 for one person and about 1200 for a double bed room. Mine was very clean, breakfast was wonderful, and they brought me a newspaper in the morning. It’s a little far from the main road and Paltan Bazar, but easy to find on the map, and Ola and Uber taxis can drop you very close to the hotel. I had a great stay.

We spent three days here, and the hotel met our expectations. Room service was quick, the staff were friendly, and the laundry service was good. There’s a centralised heater, but sometimes we couldn’t get hot water in the bathroom and had to collect buckets of it from reception. All in all, a good stay.
