Hotel Rest Inn

We chose this place for one night because it was fairly close to where we wanted to see the Ganga aarthi. It’s a very basic, average hotel and felt a little expensive for what it is. We ate elsewhere, so I can’t comment on the food. It was fine for a single night, but if you have other options, I’d suggest going somewhere else.

The location is the one good thing about this very basic hotel. They charge quite a lot but don’t even have Wi-Fi, which I’d expect to find everywhere now. When I asked, the person simply said no. If guests are paying a decent amount, basic services should be included.

The hotel is right beside the parking area, which was useful during Kumbh'21, and it’s 600m from Har Ki Pauri, the main attraction. For this price range, it’s a pretty good place. The bedding was a bit messy at first, but staff changed it as soon as we mentioned it. They were very helpful and accommodating.

We told the hotel staff just a few hours after checkout that we’d left our branded clothes there and asked them to return them. They kept lying to us, and the GM was rude and spoke very impolitely. He said this wasn’t a 5 star hotel that would take care of our things. The staff misbehaved and stole our clothes. A truly pathetic stay, I never expected this.
