We came back tired from our excursions, and the clean pool, tasty food, and smiling, helpful staff left us refreshed. The distance to Hampi was just right, and even though we weren't sure how summer would be since many people suggested August, Hotel Malligi made the trip wonderful for our family. It felt like an oasis in a somewhat rural area, with world-class service. The staff are friendly while still giving you privacy. If one person is busy with another guest, someone else is there to help, though our needs were usually already taken care of. The food may be a bit spicy, but the kitchen and serving staff will adjust to your preferences. The rooms are getting old, but they're clean, as are the toilets and pool. The area under the pool stones could use more scrubbing, though it's hidden and you wouldn't really notice it. We'd definitely return and recommend staying here.

Priya deserves a special thanks for her warm welcome and attention to detail, which made my stay comfortable. At Hotel Malligi Hospet, room service was prompt, courteous, and very professional. The food arrived fast, looked good, and tasted excellent. It's rare to get such steady service and genuine care. Highly recommended!
The breakfast buffet was all vegetarian, with lots of choices, and everything I tried was delicious. The restaurant is modern and nicely decorated. The bedrooms were clean, tidy, and spacious, and there's a huge swimming pool, though I didn't get to use it. The hotel is a reasonable distance from Hampi's magnificent historic sights.
Hotel Malligi, Hospet was comfortable, clean, and well run in many ways. Staff were polite and responsive, hygiene was good, and I appreciated having separate vegetarian-only and veg/non-veg restaurant options. The food was good, though nothing extraordinary. Renovation work was underway, so there was some drilling noise and dust in the corridors. Breakfast seating was the main problem. The restaurant feels small for a hotel this size, and part of it was held for a VIP visit, leaving little room for everyone else. One staff member told us to use the reserved section since no unreserved tables were free, but another looked upset and muttered that it was for VIPs. I offered to move when another table opened up to avoid an awkward situation. Making other guests uncomfortable to prioritize one VIP isn't a good experience. The seating arrangements and renovation disruption could both be handled better.
The pool is the best part of this hotel in hospete, but note that it closes every Monday for maintenance. I booked without knowing, as that wasn't listed on the booking website. Breakfast is excellent, with a large menu and lots of items, and the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dining sections are separate. One warning: don't arrive at the restaurant after 10 pm. The staff, especially Mr.IQ**L, get rude while rushing you to order, and it can spoil dinner. Otherwise, it's a great hotel. Book early for lower rates.
