The Eden Resort Nubra

We could clearly see the sand dunes from the rooms, and the view was great. The rooms and the whole resort were clean and hygienic. Room service was very good too, they brought whatever we asked for within five minutes. The food was delicious. One of the best resorts in Ladakh.

The room kettle didn’t work, and the cups and glasses in the room were unclean. There wasn’t even a menu for breakfast or dinner, so we had no idea what would be served and no choice about what to eat. For the amount paid, I expected better than such unprofessional staff. It was a very unpleasant stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this property.

The view is the only thing this property has going for it. I didn’t feel safe there. The outside sitting area was dirty, and the chairs and tables hadn’t been cleaned. Bathroom fittings were coming apart, the basins weren’t secured properly and had to be moved to reach the tap, the faucet holder came out, and the toilets were loose. There were loads of flies, and with no electricity all day we couldn’t open the mesh door, which didn’t close flush and left gaps for them to get in. The staff didn’t work either. The photos and Google reviews we saw were nothing like what we found. I believe the Google reviews are fake. There are nearby places with electricity, good amenities and food for much cheaper.

The view was the only good thing. We had a very bad stay after booking based on the Google reviews: the mattress and towels were stained, the ceiling fan looked ready to fall, and bathroom handles were coming out. There was no electricity all day except from 8-11 pm, and hot water was available for just one hour in the morning. The food was extremely bad. At first I thought this was just how things were throughout remote Hunder, but nearby hotels were in much better shape, so we moved to Grand Nubra in Diskit. I understand water and power may be limited in a remote place, but they should have told us beforehand so we could plan bathing and charging our devices. The room got extremely stuffy at night, and the fan, already hanging by a thread, wasn’t on the generator.
