The views are good, and the camp is near the sand dunes where you can take double hump camel rides. It’s a decent camp-style hotel, though the rooms and service are average. The bed heating pads often don’t work, so bring enough winter gear, including body warmers. A major tour operator like Heena offers stays here, so I think it’s one of the better options in Nubra Valley.

What makes this Hunder stay stand out is the stream that runs through the camp. Listening to the water in that setting feels so peaceful, with the Karakoram views around you. The tents are roomy and well insulated, the staff are attentive, and the food is fresh and comforting. A lovely place to switch off, and a more soulful experience than an average campsite. Highly recommend.

The stream running through the grounds and the apricot trees give Royal deluxe camp the feel of a mountain forest. It was our favorite stay in Ladakh, and the camps are lovely and cozy, with beds, warmers, blankets, and warm water, so it feels much like a good hotel. Breakfast and dinner were included, with plenty to choose from: chai, bread and butter, chole bhature, aloo paratha, poha, upma, fruit and dahi in the morning; rice, roti, daal, aloo gobhi, matar paneer, aloo sabzi, chowmin, soup, sooji halwa, and custard at dinner. Warm water was available around 6:30 to 8:30 in the morning. The sound of the little river was amazing, and we enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds. A must-stay in Nubra Valley.

The staff at Royal deluxe were wonderful. Manan and Abhishek were especially polite and helpful, and the food was very good. They’ll try to make it the way you like if you ask. We had a good two-night stay. The rooms were okay, though they could’ve been better, but I have no regrets. Expect some sand or dust indoors because the dunes are nearby. There are electricity issues throughout the valley, so be prepared. The staff can provide solar lights if needed.

Set among the mountains, Royal Deluxe camp has a stream running right through it, which makes for a really soothing stay close to nature. Mr. Dorje gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. We were the first guests of the season, and they made sure we felt comfortable. The food was homely and filling. Definitely consider this camp when visiting Nubra Valley.
