We had a wonderful family tent stay at Magpie Camp Hunder in the last week of May 2022. The tents are spacious, neat, and clean, with a clean attached toilet for each one and hot water available. Our tent looked out over the mountains. Dinner and breakfast had a good, tasty spread, and the staff were courteous and very helpful. One thing to know before you go: Google Maps marks Hunder sand dunes as Magpie Camp, but the right location is near Hunder High-school. You can navigate to the school, then follow the small handwritten signs in the lanes. Finding the camp was hard for us because the approach roads are narrow, lonely lanes with poor markings, and not many people know the place. Otherwise, it was a beautiful, comfortable stay. Enjoy!

The tents are new and in good shape, and the stay was comfortable and relaxing. Staff were warm and quick to help. The facilities are excellent for the price, which is very affordable. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Fine if all you need is a place to sleep for the night. There isn’t much else to do, and tourism has ruined this place. You can skip Nubra Valley altogether.

Mr. Khemsingh was so welcoming and accommodating. Since my grandmother couldn’t walk far, we asked for a camp close to the parking, and they arranged the nearest one they could. They also brought her food to the room so she wouldn’t have to walk. Everyone was very helpful, the food was delicious, and I’d definitely recommend trying the kheer. The camps were clean and hygienic. We had a great experience. Thank you for having us.

The view was superb, and the staff were very hospitable. It was too cold at night without a heater in the room, though. Hot water was available only once, at 5:30 am.
