Hotel Fortune Residency

In Hyderabad's old city, the hotel is affordable and sits on the main road near the central post office, with good bus connections. The rooms are medium-sized and the restrooms were clean. There was a TV in each room, and some rooms also had AC. Parking a car is difficult here, though bikes are easy to park.

I'm posting this late about my stay on June 4th, 2022. The rudeness from management is what bothered me most, on top of what felt like cheating over the price. I'd booked a room two weeks ahead through Agoda app because the hotel was near my exam centre. When I arrived an hour before the listed check-in time, the receptionist, manager, and staff said they wouldn't give me the room for the Rs 1000 listed on the app. They demanded Rs 2000 instead, saying the app price was lower than what I had to pay. I tried contacting Agoda customer service right there at reception, but within a couple of minutes the hotel told me no rooms were available. That didn't make sense to me. I thought they might have assumed I wouldn't pay the higher amount. It was a busy exam period with several nearby centres, and lots of people were coming because of the positive Google reviews. They seemed sure someone else would pay whatever they demanded, and they even told me to leave. During the roughly 30 minutes I spent at reception, several guests came down to complain that the AC wasn't working in paid AC rooms or that there was no hot water. Rather than waste more time with Agoda and the hotel, I walked to another nearby place, got a room for Rs. 1000, and had a comfortable stay. I'm sharing the detail so someone else doesn't get troubled or misled by the reviews here. I usually don't review neutral experiences, only really good ones or bad ones where I've felt cheated. I meant to post on June 4th itself, but focused on my exam, then got busy with work and kept putting it off. This management deserves zero stars. Don't book here, especially through third-party apps.

We had confirmed tickets booked through OYO, but when we arrived, the hotel said it was full and refused to give us rooms. They wouldn't listen even when we showed the confirmation. I consider that dishonest. The management was among the worst I've dealt with. I wouldn't trust OYO or stay at this hotel again.

We only chose this hotel for its location, and I wouldn't recommend it. The stay was hectic: we had to change rooms three times because each one had some problem. One bathroom door wouldn't close, the lights flickered in another room, and there was water leaking from the AC. The staff weren't helpful. They said they couldn't provide towels or drinking glasses, and the receptionist was really rude. Those are just a few of the issues.
