OYO 6749 The Royal Nest

The owner, whom you have to call because he isn't at the hotel, spoke professionally. The TV was also a decent way to pass time. But there were cockroaches, the Wi-Fi connected without internet, and the bathroom flush didn't work. Non-AC rooms have no telephone, so you have to go to reception for anything. They wouldn't give me a room through OYO and charged more than the OYO price, so I had to book offline. They also don't allow outside food, so you have to order from them. I'd only book here in an emergency. There are many more standard hotels in the area.

The room was uncomfortable, with a bed that wasn't pleasant to sleep on, and there was no cleaning or room service. Mosquitoes and cockroaches were everywhere, but when I asked for repellent, the hotel told me to buy it myself. The space was so cramped that the cupboard doors couldn't open fully, and none of the power outlets worked. There was a TV, though almost all the channels were cr*p. One window had no fencing. I stayed for a couple of nights, and the dirty bedsheet and hair on the blanket set the tone for a horrible stay. The hotel authority acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me stay, and asking for anything risked them telling me to leave. Don't be fooled by the pictures.

The room itself is comfortable and good for anyone after a decent, ambient place to stay. The service isn't bad, and it's a good budget-friendly hotel. The complimentary breakfast was the worst part: they stick to fixed options like idli and vada, which seem chosen for profit. Don't expect much from the food; there are good hotels nearby.

I stayed in room 205, and it was filthy, with mosquitoes, bugs, cobwebs, and a bad smell. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn't work. The TV was broken, and staff took no action even after I complained. They charge for drinking water, too. This isn't worth being on the OYO list. I've stayed at OYO places in Bombay and Pune before, but this was my worst experience.
