I had dal palak and butter roti for dinner, then woke up with an upset stomach and severe bloating. When I raised it with the manager, he wouldn't take responsibility and brushed it off by suggesting other causes, like a cold. The response was unprofessional and the complaint wasn't taken seriously. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the food quality and the way management handled it.

The fresh juice and really tasty food made the meal stand out, and the service was great too. I had a lovely time at Hotel Kalinga and would happily visit again for a refreshing meal.

A really bad stay. The rooms feel very old, the blankets weren't good, and they didn't provide basic things like a toothbrush or toothpaste. I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was tasty, but the prices were way too high. A chicken fried rice for 500 rupees is hard to accept, especially when outside food isn't allowed. The room menu said guests had separate pricing, but they charged the full rate anyway. When I asked, the receptionist frowned and ignored me. The dusty smell throughout the old hotel didn't help. Most of all, dealing with the receptionists felt like a burden to them, whether we were checking in, checking out, or asking something. There were no friendly greetings, just an uninterested, frustrated attitude.

The dull, unwelcoming atmosphere was a letdown, and I wouldn't recommend Hotel Kalinga to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Indore. The front office staff were rude and unhelpful too. My questions and requests got indifferent or dismissive replies, and when we paid the full room price for a six-hour late checkout, excluding breakfast, they kept following up and asking us to leave early. I stayed one night. The hotel has the basic amenities you'd expect from a budget place, but the high prices don't match the quality. Food and drinks at the bar cost a lot for offerings that felt subpar, and breakfast was very basic.
