Hotel Orange Classic

I spent a month at Hotel Orange Classic and enjoyed it a lot. My single room had a balcony and a Gangaview, and there were lovely jungle views on the upper side of the hotel too. You can get to the Ganga in two minutes, and the new Gangabridge and boats to Topovanside are nearby. The hotel staff were very helpful, and the owner's family gave the place a familiar feel that made me comfortable. I highly recommend it and will definitely come back.

We paid about ₹8000 for three days, but left after just one because the room was dirty, the sheets were torn, and the bathroom didn’t work. Even with a confirmed booking, my family and I were refused check-in and kept waiting for 2-3 hours. The staff were rude and no help at all. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this place; there are much better options in Rishikesh. MakeMyTrip’s response was disappointing too. I sent photos and videos showing the check-in problem, room condition, and poor service, but the resolution took too long and didn’t do enough. A ₹2000 coupon doesn’t make up for the trouble my family and I went through. I expected better support and accountability.

We booked room 102, a double room with a balcony, but were given the smaller room 206 instead. The blankets smelled and looked dirty, and the balcony stayed filthy through all four days. Nobody came to sweep or mop the room once during our visit. Power cuts were common, so charging devices or heating water could be difficult. Only one socket in the room worked, so I’d suggest bringing an extension cord. The toilet was loose in its place, and its drainpipe sat above the floor. I worried it could shift if someone heavier sat on it. The staff, a group of young men, were unfriendly and especially rude at reception. Seeing that person could spoil your day, that’s all I can say. They also seemed unhappy that I’d booked online because it was cheaper. I won’t stay here again or recommend it.

I paid for an AC room, but they switched the air conditioning off. In the eight-bed hostel room, only one light worked, and there was a bad smell. The blankets were dirty, and there was no cleaning, mopping, or sheet changing. The charges kept changing. At first they said ₹4k for eight people, then when we became nine they said ₹4.5k, and later claimed ₹4k was for a non-AC room. They lied a lot. The photos looked completely fake, maybe AI generated, and the real rooms were horrifying. The way they treat customers is awful. Don’t go there, I can’t explain how painful the experience was.
