I was admitted for a day after vomiting and feeling dizzy. The basic treatment was fine, but it felt routine, with the usual set of tests. The final bill was 28k for what seemed like a fairly simple issue. It seemed to me that having insurance led the hospital to focus on maximizing the bill instead of working efficiently. Most of the staff seemed junior and inexperienced, which showed in the care. If you come in for an emergency, I’d first check the doctor’s name and experience.

I was very satisfied with the professional staff and services at Bombay hospital. It’s one of the finest hospitals I’ve come across. Having OPD, a physiotherapy dept, a pharmacy, and even bank facilities inside the hospital makes things easier for patients.

I’m a physician, and this happened to my mother. Within 24 hours in the ICU, she was converted to ARF, with creatinine going from 0.7 to 2.0. She was given high-dose diuretics, her IV infusion wasn’t properly managed, and she became severely dehydrated within 48 hours. The ICU staff and consultant doctor team seemed negligent to an extreme degree. Her condition was monitored, but timely action wasn’t taken. It felt as if they let her deteriorate, leading to more time and more money. The charges were exorbitant beyond imagination, including around 8000 for an echo and 7000 for a sonography. Despite those heavy charges, it felt like they were preparing a death bed for your loved one because consultants weren’t informed. They suggested tracheostomy and ventilator support. We refused, moved her to another hospital, and thanked Dr Manish Jain and team. They gave her adequate IV fluids and supportive treatment, monitored her closely, and she improved within 24 hours. She needed only normal O2 support, no ventilator, and her kidney was rapidly recovering. I’m writing this 24 hours after discharge. If we’d kept her at Bombay hosp on the ventilator and other support they suggested, I don’t think she would have survived. They would have kept extracting money. It’s easy to recommend an invasive procedure, but who considers its complications? A dehydrated patient, who cares? I can imagine what happens to the general public when this happened to an MD doctor’s mother. A simple case became complicated. Their team needs more training and study. It felt like they were experimenting on patients.

I’ve lived in Indore for 10 years, and Bombay Hospital’s staff behaviour still hasn’t changed. From nurses to receptionists, they’re extremely rude, misguide people, and create confusion. Ask a question and they shout or start arguing. They don’t know how to speak respectfully and act like you’ve taken their property when they get into a fight. The doctors are good, but despite the hospital’s big name, the staff behaviour is very poor.

Emergency medical needs are handled promptly here, and patients are treated with care. The staff are cooperative, and the treatment process is smooth. One of the best hospitals for healthcare services.
