Hotel VB Heritage Heights

For the price, I guess you get what you get. I booked three nights through Agoda at a good rate, and the property asked me to leave a review instead of giving direct feedback on WhatsApp. The staff’s English was okay, but they didn’t seem interested in trying to accommodate us. The location is a big plus, close to restaurants and tea stands, with halal food nearby for anyone with dietary restrictions. There’s a lot of potential here. Even during the neighborhood blackout, which seems to happen often in India, the lights and AC somehow stayed on. If your room doesn’t cool down, shut the bathroom door, since the fan opening there isn’t sealed. The street is under construction, but that doesn’t explain the condition inside. We didn’t get towels, toilet paper, bins or toiletries and had to ask for each. We’d been in India for the previous 10 days, and every other place we stayed provided those basics. When my husband asked the front desk for toilet paper, another staff member went upstairs for it. He knocked on our door and opened it without waiting for me to answer, while I was in my undergarments. My husband was still at the desk and only learned later that the paper had been delivered. It was probably a misunderstanding, but it was an uncomfortable situation. Cleanliness needs attention too. Dust was an inch thick on the floors throughout the hotel and stairwell. The corners, walls and windows need a thorough clean, and the walls could use fresh paint. A towel had been left in the bathroom, which made me wonder whether it had been cleaned or the bed linens changed. Towels left on console tables in public hallways made the place look disorderly. We don’t eat where things feel unclean, so the restaurant and room service may be losing guests because of this. Both rooms we stayed in had plumbing issues. Without trash bins or a sign asking guests not to flush toilet paper, it’s understandable to expect it to go down the toilet, so please repair the plumbing and put up signs. The rooftop has great views and could be made useful for guests with furniture. It might even work for tent glamping, a hostel with a shared kitchen and showers, an herb garden, mocktail lounge or co-working cafe. There was a lot of trash, clothing and sleeping pads up there, so maybe staff or others are sleeping there?
