Umaid Bhawan - A Heritage Style Boutique Hotel

I checked in on 6th June and asked for just a 30-minute late checkout on 7th June. The staff's response was harsh and rude, which felt far from hospitable. I was traveling with a newborn and had hoped for some understanding, but the service overall was disappointing. Breakfast was disorganized, with hardly anyone available to help guests. The front office team came across as especially unprofessional and lacking basic customer service manners. This wasn't the standard of hospitality I expected from a property associated with Ummed Bhawan Jaipur. I've stayed at many hotels in Jaipur without experiencing this kind of treatment. If you're spending a significant amount on your stay, I'd recommend choosing a well-regarded hospitality brand that truly values its guests.

The building is lovely, and the room was clean and cozy. Check-in felt a little sterile, though it was okay, just not very welcoming. Breakfast was so-so, but the terrace is pleasant and you can sit outside. When we returned after a day out, our room hadn't been cleaned. At reception I was told that they only have one key and we hadn't left it there. No one had told us that beforehand.

The staff made a real difference here. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile. Bhanwar and Bijay deserve a special thanks for making our stay feel even more special. I loved this hotel and was genuinely sad to leave. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Our room had its own character, with distinctive furnishings and decor instead of the usual corporate look. The bed was huge and comfortable, there were plenty of places to sit, and the bathroom had a powerful shower, a huge walk-in bath, and quality amenities. It was quiet at night, and the air conditioning and fans were unobtrusive, so we slept extremely well. Laundry came back very quickly and was great value, for example, a shirt was rps50. We had excellent meals at the rooftop restaurant, which also has indoor seating. Everything we ate was outstanding, and the Laal Maas was my favorite. I’ve added photos of the menu for info. We used Manu, who has a taxi outside the hotel, a nice Hyundai. He took us to Umber Fort and dropped us at the entrance at the top, so we didn't need the steep climb or a jeep, which is 600rps each way. The food was excellent, and the service and hospitality were genuinely gracious. Staying in this beautiful ethnic hotel gave me a chance to soak up Rajasthan’s cultural character. It was an exquisite, memorable experience.
