Life Solora Jaisalmer

I booked a desert tour through Life Solora, and it was incredible. The food was amazing, and the jeep ride, music, and everything else made it worth coming to Jaisalmer. As an Italian woman traveling alone, I also felt really at home in the hostel. The female dormitory was the best I’ve had in India so far, clean and very safe. The guys working here were especially great and really wanted me to feel comfortable. Thank you, Life Solora, for such a great experience. You won’t regret choosing it in Jaisalmer.

The room itself was in terrible shape: it was dirty, the bedding was unhygienic, the sheets were stained, and the replacements were two single sheets on a double bed. The bathroom and bucket were dirty, and there were no toiletries. They refused towels, saying they were “out for washing.” We also had to wait 40-50 minutes after arriving at 3:30 PM because our room wasn’t ready. The owner/manager Mr. NUNO KHAN pressured us to buy the Desert Safari package before check-in, saying we needed to decide urgently. We paid a token amount toward the ₹14,000 package for 3 people, then found the same inclusions outside for around ₹9,000. The promised city tour wasn’t provided. We were asked to walk to places, and after arguing they arranged an auto instead of a cab. Cabs don’t reach the property near the fort, so you need to walk or take an auto with your luggage. That inconvenience wasn’t clearly disclosed. The place felt mismanaged, misleading, and unhygienic. Some positive reviews seem questionable to me, while genuine bad experiences get overlooked. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone visiting Jaisalmer. Don’t book the Desert Safari through this property.

For the price, the stay was excellent. It was in a great location, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. The rooms felt cozy. I did wish the bathroom had been a bit cleaner and that towels were more available, though.

Things got better later, when the staff tried to understand our situation and became more helpful. Since there weren’t enough rooms, they sent us to a desert safari camp at no extra cost. It wasn’t great there until nighttime, when I finally got a decent room. At first, the stay was stressful. The reception looked cluttered and poorly maintained, which made me wonder about the room cleanliness. I’d booked through Airbnb, but they said they hadn’t received the reservation. Their online booking system seems to have an issue, and we disagreed with them initially. In the end, it was a mixed experience that did improve.
