OYO 9985 Hotel Sekhon Grand

I had a pretty good stay overall. The elevator ran smoothly and the geyser worked fine, while the service and hospitality were quite good. Food was average, the Wi-Fi wasn't working well, and I couldn't get drinking water on time. The attached pictures are of the corridor, since I couldn't take more.

The location is easy to reach, in the town centre and near Namdev Chowk. I had drinks there with friends. Service was okay, neither fast nor slow, and the seating felt old. The ACs weren't working properly; we complained several times, but the owner said there was a technical issue. Food was okay, nothing special.

The “Grand” in the hotel's name seems to be there to justify the high price, because the place didn't live up to it. The structure is old, the rooms and washrooms were unhygienic, the walls were damp, the door lock had an issue, there was no privacy, and it was noisy. I even found used condoms near my bed, the worst thing I've experienced. I stayed in December when it was about 7°C outside. They gave me a blanket, and when I asked for a quilt, housekeeping said they didn't have one. What an answer. Google only allows a minimum one-star rating, but for all its services I'd give it -5.

The hotel was neat and clean, with parking, round-the-clock security, delicious food, and helpful staff who provided good service. It's easy to get to and well known in the city. The rooms are spacious, but lack the current amenities found in newer hotels, and you have to ask reception each time to have the room cleaned. They charged Rs. 40 + 5% GST = Rs. 42 for a “KINLEY” water bottle with an MRP of Rs. 20. Better to buy one from Pan Palour besides the Hotel.
