Rani Castle Jammu

The hotel’s best feature is how close it is to Jammu railway station, just 300 meters away in Shiv market. The rooms are a good size and have AC, an LCD TV, and Wi-Fi. But the bedsheets weren’t clean, the towel was torn, the staff weren’t very friendly, and the restaurant food was pathetic. Service overall was below par.

We came back from katra and booked three rooms for the night before our train. Arriving around midnight, we wanted to rest, but the AC wasn’t working properly in two rooms. After an hour of going up and down the stairs, since there’s no lift, we were given rooms on three separate floors. Then they took the AC remotes to reception, saying the hotel had only two. The bedsheets were sticky, so we asked to have them changed. In the morning, one toilet jet didn’t work at all, and we had to call at least three times to get towels.

The receptionist was very cooperative, and the service was good, though not better than that. It’s a decent place to rest, located behind the shiv market gandhi nagar jammu beside the masjid. The room felt overpriced: I was asked to pay 1500, though I was told 800 would be enough. Booking online is better, since offline costs more.

It’s very close to the railway station, which is a plus. The staff were helpful and cooperative, the rooms were good, and room service was available. The food was good too, though there was no non veg on the menu. Hotel Rani Castle is one of the good hotels in Jammu.
