Lime Tree Hotel

I’d booked and paid in advance two months before arriving, but they refused to give us our room and told us to go to another hotel. The management didn’t try to sort it out. Instead, they talked back and told us to “adjust,” because they had given our rooms to a larger group that hadn’t even arrived yet. They seem to take more advance bookings than they have capacity for. This was the worst experience, and I’d strongly say never to visit.

There was no intercom in the room, and the sheets and pillow covers were in terrible condition. The towel was bad too, with threads sticking to my body and hair. The bathroom fixtures were poorly maintained, and there was no direct hot water at the tap. Not worth the money or a stay.

The rooftop seating is a real highlight, it feels just like the Kingdom. The location is very nice, the staff are attentive, and the rooms are neat and clean. First-class hospitality.

As a woman traveling alone in Gujarat, I felt this was an extremely unsafe hotel. The middle-aged men working as managers kept looking me up and down and seemed to judge me based on what I was wearing. Outside, the hotel sits on a narrow, dark street where boys hang around smoking at night. Altogether it was a disturbing experience. Never visit.
