The restaurants stood out for me. Breakfast had a wide selection, and both the Indian and Oriental food were top-notch. Service was prompt, and the staff made an effort to keep the stay comfortable. The Alcor Hotel has a modern, polished feel from the lobby through to the rooms. Its spot in Bistupur, near St. Mary’s School, was very convenient for both work and leisure in Jamshedpur.

The room had a few useful things going for it: the electronic light controls were nice, though some switches didn’t work, and WiFi ran at 40-50 Mbps. Getting logged in, though, was cumbersome. Quite a few room items were also faulty, including the mini fridge, a flush that kept sticking, a loose hand shower, and a reading light that kept falling. The hotel needs better maintenance. Inside, the place is okay, but the location is poor, next to a slum area with no shops or market nearby. It’s also very old.

Whenever I’m in Jamshedpur, I’ve stayed at Alcor Hotel several times. The service is nice and housekeeping does a good job. Kunti Barik has always been cordial and prompt with her work.

We felt right at home thanks to the friendly, efficient staff. Our room was roomy and the bed was especially comfortable. I’d highly recommend it.

2/10
The rooms are nice, but I found the restaurant food really bad, worse than at an ordinary hotel in Jamshedpur. When we mentioned the taste, the restaurant staff sarcastically said it was the best they could provide. The prices are high, yet the portions are small. Starters cost at least Rs 500 and came with only five pieces, and the taste was still poor. I’d rather order from another restaurant through Swiggy or zomato.
