The owner noticed that I had accidentally paid twice and returned the extra money himself, which was great. The owners and staff were kind and cooperative, and the freshly prepared breakfast and other food were very good. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Getting to the property through the very narrow, village-like streets feels a bit unusual, but it’s centrally located and within walking distance of many attractions. It was an excellent experience.

The rooftop makes the steep stairs worthwhile, with a spectacular 360-degree view of the city and fort. We were six people over 55, and every one of us loved this homestay, despite another review suggesting it wasn't suitable for that age group. The host was friendly and helpful, and carried our luggage up and down the stairs. Our guide was impressed by the location and the property too, and said he'd recommend it to future clients. A great choice if you're after a stay in the city centre.

Juna Mahal turned out to be a particularly elderly-friendly place, and my 76-year-old girlfriend and I, at 79, both had a lovely time. We were welcomed by Mr. JOSHI and his family with greetings, flower garlands, and rose petals showered from the upper floors of the beautiful traditional haveli, which dates to the 17th century. I had known Mr. JOSHI, his wife, parents, and children for 30 years, though I hadn't seen him in 15, so it was a pleasure to reconnect. But you don't need to know him already to feel at home: he's a very friendly man, and his whole family is welcoming. You won't be disappointed. Before we arrived, I messaged Mr. JOSHI from Delhi with our arrival time and asked if he could arrange a pickup. He said yes. As we left Jodhpur airport, my doubts about whether anyone would meet us disappeared when I saw the only English sign being held up. It had my name, George, spelled “Jorj,” and somehow that made me even more sure it was for me. The man with the sign led us to a motor rickshaw driver, who loaded our luggage and took us on an adventurous ride to the homestay. The following days were just as wonderful.

Traveling with our 3yo, we found this hotel calm and very comfortable, and the rooms, bed, and furniture were spotless. Shops are only a few steps away, and the locals and staff were lovely and welcoming. It’s a short distance from the busy Clock Tower area, but not so close that it felt hectic, which suited us perfectly. The stairs are quite steep, and some rooms are several floors up. It wasn't much of a problem with our toddler, though it could be harder with smaller kids. We would've happily stayed another day just to enjoy the hotel, and we'd return if we're back here.
