OYO 22071 Shri Baba Excellency

We were asked to eat upstairs even when our one-year-old was asleep, so one of us would have had to stay in the room. They finally brought food only after I got angry and said to throw it away; I would pay and eat outside. At another point, the genset was switched off because it had been running for a long time. I told them my child would wake in the heat, and they restarted it after speaking to me angrily. Food service was frustrating throughout. They refused to bring lunch to the room, saying it could soil the sheets, and pointed us to two plastic tables on the terrace with no fan. Breakfast was also a hassle. My MMT printout showed the two rooms were prepaid, but the hotel record said otherwise, and staff made me call MMT to sort it out even though they had a tie-up. MMT confirmed it was prepaid. Breakfast was included too, but staff initially denied it, then insisted I speak to the manager before serving anything. They eventually figured it out and gave us only poha and coffee, after all that arguing. At checkout, the manager tried to charge for the coffee, saying only tea was included. The waiter had asked whether we wanted tea or coffee with the poha, and we chose coffee. The manager blamed a new staff member for telling us the wrong thing and wouldn't let it go until other guests backed me up. Keep these issues in mind before booking.

The food was a letdown. The so-called restaurant is just two tables on the third floor, and the vegetables I was served had dust particles in them. If you have to stay here, I'd order from Zomato instead. Hot water was another problem in the freezing cold. At best, if you were lucky, you might get half a bucket after waiting an hour. The dish connection seemed to need topping up every hour, with a “this account needs recharge” message each time.

The room itself was comfortable, but the staff and management caused problems. At booking I was quoted one price, then charged a different amount at checkout. They also said they had a kitchen and made all the food there, but actually ordered it from a nearby hotel and charged me for it.

OYO helped me get checked in, but I was still very disappointed with both OYO and the hotel. I had booked through OYO and paid in advance, yet the staff spoke badly and demanded more money, saying they wouldn't give me a room otherwise. They also asked me to leave a review at checkout. The receptionist gave me poor complimentary food, and when I complained, a woman said the other items weren't available. I think the other reviews are fake.
