Haveli Inn Pal

Double windows kept the room quiet despite being only a short walk from the Clock Tower, and we slept really well. Haveli Inn Pal is a beautiful place with lots of character that fits Jodhpur perfectly. The service was attentive, professional, and well organized. A lovely mix of heritage atmosphere and modern comfort. Highly recommended.

The rooftop restaurant was the highlight for me. You can see Mehrangarh fort, and the night view from 7-9 PM is fantastic. The food was good, and Chhotu ji and Bhai ji gave really great service. Rooms were neat and clean, though a little more space would have made the high December and January rates feel more reasonable. The area around the Clock Tower (ghanta ghar) is busy, but the market and good places for kachoris, jalebis, lassi and rabri are within walking distance. One thing to know: Pal Haveli and Haveli Inn Pal are two properties belonging to relatives on the same premises, with a shared main gate. The entrance guards are from the larger Pal Haveli, and they were indifferent to Haveli Inn Pal guests twice during my stay. There’s also a man at reception, not the owner, who can act over smart. If you’re going to Haveli Inn Pal, ignore the guards and head to the right.

Breakfast was great, the rooms were good, and the rooftop view of Mehrangarh Fort was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Bhailal (I think that was his name). We loved the heritage feel of the place, right in the old city beside the Clock Tower. We’ll definitely come back to Haveli Inn when we’re here for RIFF again.

The interiors have a beautiful feel, and the rooftop restaurant is a lovely place at night with a great view of Mehranga fort. The location is good too. But the basic amenities were pathetic: no toothbrush or tissue box, just a miserable packet of coffee, and the hot shower didn’t work. Two small bottles of water are complimentary, then you pay for more. I stayed here seven years ago, and I think they’re losing it.
