Windsongs

The food was fresh and homemade, with videos offering authentic Nepali cuisine, and the momos were tasty. We had a very relaxing stay, especially suited to senior citizens who want to enjoy good food and the scenery. Windsongs sits in the mountains with a lovely view over the Teesta valley and Kanchenjungha on the other side. Karan, his wife, and his mother were attentive, very polite, and warm hosts who took great care of us.

My wife and I, both senior citizens, have been staying here since the evening of 28th September. I'm writing this on the eve of our departure, and after thinking hard, I can't find fault with this homestay. Mr Karan, his wife and mother, along with their dedicated staff, all work together to provide excellent service and look after this beautiful, carefully designed property. I wish them all the best. If my health allows, I'll certainly come back to enjoy their hospitality.

The cottage beds are very comfortable, and the blankets have warmers that make the room feel cozy. Homemade food and fresh air add to the stay. Most of all, the scenery makes you slow down and look inward. From the cottage and sitting area, there are huge Himalayan views, snowcapped peaks, rolling mountains, and morning clouds below you. The Teesta river winds into view during the day, with clear blue skies above. A beautiful, peaceful place with genuinely warm hosts.

It's a private homestay in a fantastic spot, with heavenly views, though it is a bit costly. When we visited Kalingpong this time, the place was closed. I did notice a new three to four story building under construction.
