Once the mist lifted in the morning, we could see sunbirds darting about, hear them chirping and leaves rustling, and spot coracles in the distance on the catchment. It's a peaceful place, surrounded by lush greenery and very picturesque. Sai uncle welcomed us warmly, showed us around, and the setting really does make you feel close to nature. The infinity pool looks over the catchment of karapuzha Dam and has a stunning view. Nellarchal view point is nearby too, a lovely place for a sunset and a relaxed walk. The food was delicious. Lunch was a Kerala meal on a banana leaf: Kerala rice, chicken curry, aviyal, sambar, papadam, moongdal and payasam. We had Kerala porotta, chicken varth arachath, paneer masala and chicken fry for dinner, then played ping pong and carams. Breakfast was puttu with kadala curry, bread, omelette, jam, grape juice and tea. Food is made to order. SPA and camp fire can be arranged on request. Thanks especially to Mr Manoj Thomas for all the effort and arrangements, and to the VSDL staff for their hospitality.

We spent 2 days here and loved the quiet break from city noise. The room had an amazing view, and service was quick and on point. Food was fresh, tasty and made to order. Mr. Manoj, who manages the property, was friendly and helpful.

Staff were friendly, greeted us nicely and took care of requests quickly, which was a highlight of our recent stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with basic amenities that worked fine for a short visit and lovely lake views. The area has a relaxed feel and is close to a popular lake and some local spots. A reliable choice if you're in the area.

The caretaker and Chef were friendly and helpful, and there was privacy with a balcony, small table and chair. But facilities are limited: just a small swimming pool and table tennis board, and there are only a few rooms. The road from the main road isn't good, and the drive up to the parking is very, very steep. There's no covered parking. The menu and breakfast choices are both limited, and food is cooked on demand. The AC was faulty, with only a wall-mounted fan in the room. Rates feel high for what you get: 180 rps for plain rice and 150 for just 3 gulab jamuns 🥹🥹.

Vista Del Lago is tucked away in a quiet spot, a welcome escape from the noise and bustle of city life. The lake and mountain views are soothing and serene, and the hospitality was good. We had a great stay.
