We stayed one night with family to visit Goddess Kanchi Kamakshi and other temples in the area. The hotel is centrally located in the temple town and very close to God Chitragupta temple. There's a vegetarian restaurant on the ground floor, and the food tasted good.

After a long train and bus journey, I booked at the last minute and spent about twice what I'd normally pay for budget accommodation with good reviews. I thought I'd treat myself, and check-in went smoothly. Someone kindly helped bring my luggage up. Then, as soon as my room door opened, I saw a cockroach scurry over the complimentary tea tray. The bellman looked away until I asked him to deal with it. He smashed it and brushed it onto the floor, and nobody came back to clean the table. Gross. There was no hot water in the shower either. The ground-floor restaurant was convenient, and the food and drinks were delicious. The waiters and waitresses were very kind, but the man collecting payment was quite rude. The location is prime, though noisy and muddy. That's all part of the adventure India, I guess. Thanks 🙏🏻🙃

The hotel is in a great spot, a short walk from Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple and the other major temples. My room was clean, hygienic, and well maintained, making for a comfortable and satisfying stay.

The room was a good size and the surroundings were fine, but the mattress was stinging and caused breathing trouble. We had to cover the pillow with a towel to sleep. It was really bad.

Sree Sakthi Residency is right in the heart of Kanchipuram, which made getting around easy for shopping and temple visits. Autos are easy to find, and there's a restaurant on the ground floor that keeps the place lively. The rooms are a bit cramped. In my room, only hot water came through, and there were brief water shortages at times. Still, it's a decent budget option, with location as its main draw.
