Desert Dream Royal Camp

The rooms are spacious and well kept, with one double and one single bed, so a family can stay comfortably in one tent. The pathways and swings make the exterior look lovely. The welcome in the evening and the traditional night music and dance were nice. There was a good spread at hi-tea and the dinner buffet was tasty. Housekeeping and restaurant staff were humble and polite. The front desk was the problem. The receptionists weren't humble and tried to sell desert safari packages for 2-3 times the real price, seemingly to pocket a commission. The resort is a bit far inside, so without your own vehicle it's hard to walk to the main road and book a safari elsewhere. It felt like they took advantage of that. When I called my taxi driver to come back and take us to the main road so I could book more cheaply, the receptionist lowered the price. If you're arriving by taxi, I'd suggest booking a private taxi from Jaisalmer and asking the driver to take you straight to a desert safari booking center. The driver may also take commission, but probably not as much as the front desk here.

The rooms were beautiful, everything was provided, and the food was so yum. Staff were really sweet and supportive, with top notch hospitality. Such an adorable, fun place. I'd highly recommend staying here on your next trip.

The food was good and enjoyable, and we appreciated the kitchen staff's effort. Cleanliness needs work, especially for the price we paid. During our stay at the desert camp, I went to the washroom and found a large lizard inside. I have a strong phobia of lizards and got so scared I ended up in tears. Thankfully, my husband called the staff right away, and they came and dealt with it. They did respond when asked, but better cleaning and pest control would make the stay more comfortable, especially for guests with similar fears.

The jeep safari was the best part and a must do. We booked our Jaisalmer trip through booking .com and everything was well organized. At Desert Dream royal Resort, the room rent was reasonable, and the room was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and had good amenities. The desert camp was great too, with clean, comfortable, well-arranged tents. The staff were polite, cooperative, and ready to help.
