Hotel Kalka Royal

The hotel's location was the thing I liked. The rooms are okay, but on my second visit, I booked an Executive Room and found the floor and linen unclean. It looked like the previous guest had just checked out and nobody had tidied the room or changed the sheets. There was hair all over the bed. I’d been there twice in one week.

Being right outside the railway station made getting around so easy. Our room and bathroom were tidy and had everything we needed, and both the front desk and room service responded quickly and were helpful. I’d choose Hotel Kalka Royal again and recommend it for a stay in Katra. Thanks to the whole team for the great service.

I’d stayed here every year for the last 4-5 years, but this visit was completely unsatisfactory. Maybe management has changed. We arrived late at night after booking two days ahead, and the receptionist was argumentative and unhelpful. The room was filthy: the sheets hadn’t been changed, there was hair everywhere, and the floor hadn’t been cleaned. At about 3 a.m. we asked for fresh sheets. Laundry staff brought replacements three times, and each set looked used, as if taken from another room. It was a horrific night. The previous senior staff eventually sorted things out the next day and moved us to a clean room, but we’d barely slept. We had to visit the Bhawan early, so our plans for the day were badly affected. I’d only suggest arriving during the day, since that seemed to be the only way to get service acceptable for the price.

The food and service were the best parts for us. We had breakfast and a few dinner snacks, and both tasted good. Kaka ram ji treated guests with so much respect and hospitality, which really made our day. I was here with my family and we took two rooms. The stay was comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and the location was ideal with everything nearby. Thanks!
