You’re close to the Periyar Tiger Reserve entrance, spice markets and Kathakali theaters, even though the grounds feel tucked into the forest. The cottages and jungle rooms sit among tall trees and neat lawns, with birds and sometimes monkeys around. Families seem to enjoy the large outdoor pool, and there’s also an Ayurvedic spa. Staff are often praised for being attentive and quick with room service. The restaurant has a complimentary breakfast buffet with Kerala dishes and live cooking, though the continental choices can be inconsistent. Reception may be weak in some cottages under the dense trees, but Wi-Fi is available. Keep the balcony doors shut, since monkeys may wander inside.

The staff were warm, polite and always ready to help, and the meals were delicious with plenty of variety. We found the rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. The resort is surrounded by nature, with peaceful, well-kept grounds. We had a relaxing, memorable stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Thekkady.

The room balcony mostly looked toward nearby hotels and buildings, so there wasn’t the forest view I’d expected. Still, staying right at Thekkady Junction made it easy to get around, and the grounds were green, calm and very well maintained, with pretty paths to walk along. My family and I found it a pleasant stay that didn’t cost too much. There’s ample parking, a good pool and a playground for kids. Breakfast had a nice variety, and the staff kept everything clean and welcoming. A good option if you want to be in the middle of Kumily while still having a green resort setting.

The staff are exceptionally pleasant and accommodating, and the hotel is an easy walk from town’s main tourist spots. The buffet is simple but good quality, while the à la carte food is very good. My room was comfortable enough, though a bit dated, with few power outlets and no safe. The bathroom was good, just not luxurious.

We had a lovely dinner at abad green forest last week. The food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. Chef rajesh knew a lot about the cuisines and explained things very well. He’s a very nice guy. We’ve recommended it to our friends too. Thanks to the team abad for the service.
