Alcor Kumbhalgarh – the family getaway

The room Wi-Fi situation says a lot about the basics here: there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only at reception. The property is about 5-10 km from the centre, and there are better places nearby. I wouldn't recommend this resort in its current state; it needs urgent renovation, and the online photos and reviews aren't up to date. Several advertised activities weren't really available. The carom board was broken and had no powder, and staff said powder had to be ordered from the main office. We ended up buying and gifting them powder, cards, and shuttlecocks because they didn't have those either. The poolside benches were broken, the nearby bathroom couldn't be used, and the pool still wasn't cleaned after repeated requests so we could enjoy it. Most games in the game zone were broken or worn out, or missing pieces. The pool table was in the best shape; other indoor games had issues, including missing cards and no UNO. Outdoors, there was no volleyball or cricket bat, and the badminton rackets were broken with no shuttlecocks. The TV and AC weren't working either.

The food was good by the second day, and the location is prime. Dinner would be easier if a staff member stayed in the dining hall while guests were eating, since we had to call each time we wanted something. There wasn't any Wi-Fi in the rooms.

We found the property peaceful and well cared for, with lovely hill views, spacious rooms, and clean outdoor areas and pool surroundings. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to help, and we enjoyed the food, especially the mix of local Rajasthani dishes and other choices. We had a wonderful stay at Alcor Kumbhalgarh Resort, with great comfort and value. I'd recommend it to families, couples, or anyone visiting Kumbhalgarh for a relaxing break.

The staff were nice, and the stay itself was pleasant. We enjoyed our time there a lot and had a great experience. A staycation here is worth considering.
