Sunrise Hill Resort

The place had a creepy feel, and I wouldn’t return even if it were free. We found cockroaches in the room, the lift was unpredictable, and the sheets and bathroom had a weird smell, so we had to ask for room freshener. Breakfast and other food were tasteless, and the breakfast containers weren’t hygienic. There were broken tiles in the swimming pool. Not worth even Rs 500 a night.

Even basic food took as long as 90 minutes to arrive, and the room had stained sheets and curtains plus a phone that didn’t work. The staff were polite, but management came across as rude, unhelpful, and ungenerous, with little idea how to speak professionally. They seemed to keep looking for ways to overcharge guests.

The breakfast buffet was cold and very poor. When we asked for toast, they first refused, then made it after we pointed out the bread was cold. The rooms were in terrible shape, though the washroom looked good, and the sheets and towels were dirty. Staff behaviour was very, very bad. They don’t know how to speak to customers, and I won’t come back.

The views are the only good thing about Sunrise Hill Resort, Lonavala. I regretted choosing it and wouldn’t recommend it for a proper holiday. The food was bland and low quality for the price, while the snooker table and table tennis setup were in awful shape, as if they hadn’t been repaired in ages. The rooms also showed clear signs of neglect. This was nowhere near a relaxing getaway, and the service and amenities fell below even basic expectations.
