Seal agoon was just what I wanted for my first trip to kerela, where I hoped to experience both the back waters and the sea. The resort has a lovely ambience, and the peace and quiet met my expectations. I felt safe during my stay. The amenities were adequate, the rooms clean, and the food was okay but could be better. The hotel staff were hospitable. Best of all was the clean beach, with one of the best sunset views I've seen.

The sea view in the IBIBO pictures turned out to be a view of rocks. The place was filthy and full of cockroaches, and basic things like towels, soap, and a blanket weren't in the room. The TV, AC, and plug sockets didn't work, and there was no mobile signal inside, even for calls. There was nowhere to park, either. It was full of smokers and people drinking. The only upside I can think of is that low-standard bachelors can do whatever they like here. I wouldn't take a wife or girlfriend there. The IBIBO listing felt misleading, and there wasn't even a way to rate the hotel on the site. I suspect the owners give cashbacks to people who leave five-star reviews.

The building and rooms are dated, and the infrastructure is poor. It is affordable for bachelors, but I wouldn't recommend it for a family stay. Being a little way from Cherai beach does mean you get some peace and quiet.

The sea view from the room is amazing, and the place is near the beach. Rooms and bathrooms are neat and clean, and the price is reasonable in both high and low season.
