Nathan's Holiday Home

Colbridge and his wife Shalini, Nathan's parents, are such genuine, kind, interesting people, and they speak perfect English. They helped us with everything from missing parcels and motorbike storage to taxis and travel advice. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We stayed upstairs, where there are four lovely rooms with their own balcony areas, plus a shared lounge, dining, and kitchen space. We actually got to stay in every room, using Nathan's as our base while travelling around Kerala. The location is ideal: a quiet street with a local feel, where people chat outside their homes, yet all the sights are within walking distance. When you're looking at a map of an unfamiliar town, it's easy to end up somewhere noisy, with an unhelpful host or photos that don't match reality. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, you can stop searching. We found the perfect place and the best hosts.

We'd happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Nathan was friendly and helpful with advice about what to see and do. The location is excellent, in a quiet area just a 10-minute walk from the busy part, or a 30p tuk tuk ride. Our room was clean and quiet, with good air conditioning, a fan, a hot shower, and a balcony where we could relax. There are four rooms around a shared area, where we met other guests for breakfast and conversation. I really enjoy meeting people from around the world and swapping stories, so that was great fun. Shalini cooked fresh breakfast every day, and it was one of the best breakfasts we'd had in three months in India. She also offers cooking classes and teaches yoga. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and hospitable.

Such a hidden gem. After a wild ride from the airport, arriving here felt peaceful and quiet. Our room had plenty of space for two large suitcases and three small ones. The AC was powerful and cooled us down after the humid heat. Breakfast was incredible and delicious, proper family-style soul food made with love. Don't skip it. The washing machine on the roof was a nice bonus, and the place is great for a longer stay too.

The shared living and kitchen area was really cozy, and we had a lovely stay. The hosts were welcoming and very kind. We shared lots of laughs with Sjalina, who taught us yoga and a cooking class as well as hosting us. The neighbourhood was lovely too. I definitely recommend this place.
