Sea Star Beach Homes

The room windows don't seem safe. Someone could break the glass and get inside.

For a stay of a day just to enjoy the beach, this place is fine. But if you also want to relax and spend time at the property, it may not be a great choice. The location is apt, on beach road directly opposite the beach, and first-floor rooms have a good beach view from the balcony. The rooms are average, especially the non-AC ones, and maintenance seemed nonexistent. Windows have no grills, so you're expected to leave them open for ventilation. Some bathrooms don't even have windows, which leaves a bad smell in the room. The rooms are large enough, but nothing special. There's no TV, the lights are quite dim, and the fan speed is only average. We were miserable in the humidity and heat. There's no room service at all. They give one bottle of drinking water when you take the room, and that's it, no more service, tea, or breakfast. There are plenty of nearby restaurants to explore and choose from.

Cherai beach is right there, and the location is excellent. The rooms are decent, but there's no food available, so even for tea or coffee you have to go out. My experience with the caretaker wasn't great. Before booking, she quoted one price, then after we'd brought in all our luggage and settled, she raised it while we were paying and argued that she hadn't given any other price. There were lots of mosquitoes inside, the rooms smelled a bit bad, and the pillows weren't very clean.

We had an unplanned trip and needed a room around 3am. We tried calling several resort owners, but nobody answered. The Sea star beach home owner picked up and gave us a nice room. Thank you very much.
