The staff were always there and very helpful. That was the reason for my three-star rating instead of two. The place itself left us feeling uncomfortable, and if we hadn't paid in advance, we would have canceled and found somewhere else. The house is right beside one of Kochi's main streets, so the constant honking went on all night and we couldn't sleep without being disturbed. At 2400 rupees a night, it felt very expensive. It's about a 15/20-minute walk from the center, and the breakfast was adequate. The room was relatively clean, but the general cleanliness felt superficial to us. Photos on Google, AirBnB, or Booking show a more positive picture than reality, and certainly seem a bit old. Suitable for a short stay, but with those issues, we wouldn't choose it again.

The rooms were lovely and worth the extra dough, even though the prices are a bit high compared with nearby options. The hosts were helpful and accommodating, and it's a great place. Only letdown was the very lacklustre breakfast, but no complaints otherwise.

Santosh made our stay at St Michael's Inn pleasant, and we'd definitely stay again. He helped with transportation, check-in, food, and other reservations from the time we arrived in Kochi until checkout. He was friendly and made us feel at home, always going the extra mile to sort out anything that came up. Our first-floor room was small but quiet, clean, and tidy. The bathroom was clean and had fresh towels, and both the AC and geyser worked properly. At our request, we could store water bottles in the fridge in the ground-floor pantry. There was cable TV and free WiFi. For breakfast, we could choose English breakfast or traditional Kerala food. We went with the latter and had fresh appams with delicious vegetable stew. All the attractions around Fort Kochi, including the Chinese fishing nets, kochi beach, kerala kathakali center, and the jetty to vypin and ernakulam, were within walking distance. We also got a rental bike at a good price through Santosh. This accommodation deserves five stars, with four of them for the hospitality alone.

Our host Santosh was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. He also arranged transport and accommodation for our time in Munnar. St Michael's Inn is a short walk or tut tut ride from Fort Kochi, and the stay was very nice and affordable for what you get. The beds were really comfortable, and the place was very clean. Breakfast is served from 8:30-10:30 am, with fruit, toast, jam, eggs, and tea or coffee. My partner and I love Indian food, so Santosh arranged a traditional Kerala breakfast one morning, and it was very tasty. I'd recommend staying here.
