The Chill House

Niaz runs the dormitory himself and is friendly, easy to approach, and ready to help. His personal care and attention make the place feel welcoming and safe, more like home than a hostel. The dorm is clean, well maintained, and arranged with guests' comfort in mind. Beds are comfortable, the common areas are tidy, and the atmosphere is calm and homely. Having a fridge and small kitchen is a big help, especially for longer stays or budget travellers who want to make simple meals. It's excellent value, with good facilities and genuine hospitality. I'd recommend it to solo travellers or anyone wanting a clean, comfortable, peaceful stay.

I only stayed one night, but I'm already eager to come back. My dorm was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The location is ideal if you're visiting for the biennale: it's opposite pepper house, a few steps from aspinwall hall, and cafes and restaurants are all within walking distance. Best hostel in fort kochi, highly recommended.

The chill House is on the main road, opp. Pepper house, and it's a great base for Kochi biennale, between mattancheri and Aspinwall. The host told us at check-in it would feel like home, and Niaz and Rehna really are warm, caring, laid-back people who look after things personally. The community shares a kitchen, terrace, laundry, and fridge. Highly recommend.

Loved the laid-back feel here. Niaz was so helpful when I ran into a problem, and he even booked me a tuktuk to the airport. The location is great, within walking distance of lots of cool restaurants. It's also perfect if you're in Kochi for Biennale festival, with plenty of exhibitions around the area.
