Sahara Yatri Niwas by OYO Rooms

The place was poorly maintained and very unclean. We booked through booking.com, where air conditioning was listed under facilities, but at the property they said there was no AC. After we challenged this, the owner said Booking.com had suggested listing AC even though the rooms don't have it, to attract customers. It's really unethical of booking.com to fool people.

The washroom wasn't properly cleaned, and there was a water issue. Don't be tempted by the low price. I wouldn't recommend it, since better options are available for the same price.

The advertised Wi-Fi, water, and TV at Sahara Yatri Hotel, Kolhapur either weren't available or didn't work. There was no Wi-Fi, water came only after repeated requests and straight from their can, and the TV couldn't even be switched on. The lift only went up to the 3rd floor. Staff seemed indifferent to what guests needed or whether they were comfortable. We'd booked online for 2 adults, then told them an extra adult and child would be coming. When I asked about the additional cost, they just said, "Come, we'll see." On arrival, they raised the price by ₹200 per night. That amount was acceptable, but the service was absolutely third-class and unacceptable. They put us on the 4th floor, saying the 2nd and 3rd floors were full, although only one room on the 2nd floor was occupied. Our room was at the back, despite front-facing rooms being available, and nobody asked what we preferred. I'd strongly suggest avoiding this hotel and choosing somewhere else, such as Mahalaxmi Dharmashala, which offers a far better experience.

I saw good photos and had already arrived, so I didn't cancel my booking. Only one room had been painted. The rest were very dirty and smelly, and the mattresses smelled a lot.
