I booked eight rooms for my 23 guests for 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th December, 2025, and paid 50% of the booking amount on 1st July, 2025. Then on 06.12.2025 at 21.30 hrs, Mr. Rajib Mukherjee, the Guest House proprietor, called and said he couldn’t provide all 8 rooms on 14.12.2025. He offered accommodation 5 Kms away from my home, even though Chhaya Neer G/H is just walking distance from my home. He said I could cancel if I didn’t agree. You can imagine how I felt hearing this, and I had no other way but to accept his proposal. I want to alert anyone thinking of booking Chhaya Neer Guest House to think carefully and avoid the problem I experienced.

This has been my unbeatable place to stay for more than 2yrs. The location is great, and it’s a quiet, clean, friendly guest house with flexible staff. I always feel welcome here. Highly recommendable.

For a short stay, Chaya Neer is a reasonable option, with room prices that aren't too high. The hotel is well located, and the caretaker is very nice. The rooms are good, though some are on the small side. You can order food to be cooked and served in your room, since there isn't a separate restaurant. The hotel's phone numbers are provided, and rooms can be booked in advance.
