We found the area around the hotel cleaner than other parts of Kolkata. It’s about 600 metres from Salt Lake StadiumMetro station, and you can get food delivered through apps. There’s a paid breakfast option from a nearby restaurant, plus bottled water and fizzy drinks stocked at reception. We had booked one room type, but it wasn’t available at check-in, so the owner, who kept his word, gave us a higher room category for less. A great guy, and a good place for a short stay.

Dipak Jo was a wonderful host, accommodating and understanding, and we had a peaceful stay at Dora house. The spacious, homely room had vintage windows and good ventilation. Great value for money, highly recommended.

The owner and manager were considerate, kind, and helpful, and we had a delightful stay. It’s a clean, quiet budget hotel with A/C rooms. In Kolkata, it’s away from the city centre’s noise and pollution, near a park with a lake. I can recommend it.
