I booked through Tripsta using IDFC reward points and ran into trouble right away. After my flight was delayed, I couldn't reach anyone to confirm a late check-in. I landed in Kolkata at midnight, and FabExpress Spandan called saying there was a power failure and tried to move me to an "equivalent" place. I later found out the power failure claim was a lie. The alternative was far away, and the room was filthy and smelled strongly of cigarettes. I have videos too, but can't see an option to post them. I strongly advise against trusting this brand or booking through IDFC rewards.

We paid in full in advance for three nights for a short trip, after seeing good reviews and homestay-like photos online. The place looked nothing like the pictures, and they hadn't reserved a room for us. On arrival they offered a ground-floor room near reception, apparently meant for staff, with no room number, and said, "if you want to stay here, you have to stay in this room only". The manager peeked out of that room bare-chested and asked us to sit while he was "taking a bath". Then he had the nerve to offer us that same room. We said we couldn't and wouldn't stay there, but they gave us no refund and didn't help us at all. The property is horribly maintained, on a dead-end road. Don't believe the good reviews or photos online. We quickly took a few pictures for a review and left.

The room was dirty and the service was so poor it didn't deserve even one star. The staff weren't pleasant, they didn't even provide two towels, and the room lock wasn't working properly.
