This cozy venue worked well for our gathering. The rooms were comfortable, the staff courteous, and our guests liked the food. Owner Ranjit da personally stayed involved over the past 9 months, which helped things run smoothly. Shivangan is in the heart of Baguihati, Kolkata, close to the airport and within walking distance of Baguihati Haat Bazaar. The rooms upstairs and spacious community halls downstairs make it convenient for events. It has what you need for a warm gathering where people can mingle, though you shouldn't expect five-star pomp.

The room's air conditioning wasn't working properly, and the stay became unbearably uncomfortable. Basic hospitality was missing: requests went ignored, and there was practically no service. Staff behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional, with complete disregard for guests. What was promised was nowhere near what we received, and it honestly felt like a scam. Poorly managed, dishonest, and not worth the money. I'd strongly advise people to avoid staying here.

I was charged 25k for sound and light, but there was no sound. The AC also didn't work properly, and the whole experience was terrible. We booked the banquet for a marriage with the understanding that we'd hold the haldi the day before. When we came back 3-4 later to discuss it, the owner denied the arrangement and said he didn't remember anything about it. I hadn't taken his catering service, and he was asking for 45k extra for the haldi. The owner is a big lier. Don't waste your hard-earned money or special day here. Find something better.

It's easily accessible from the airport and right on the main road. The owner was helpful and understanding. This will be our first choice for future events, and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

The approach to the hotel seemed nice, and housekeeping appeared to have a good approach as well. The owner's behavior was nice during our visit.
