I booked in person, and the first part of the experience was good. Then the staff took my bike key without asking, saying there was a parking problem. When we came downstairs, the bike was gone. The guest house manager and a staff member had taken it, and we waited 20 minutes. The owner protected her staff when I told her what happened. There’s no security, the door lock is improper, and the washroom basin doesn’t work properly. The AC was broken too. I wouldn’t book here.

The guest house says the parking issue was our fault because we handed over the key, but staff had asked for it, saying they needed to move the bike. They took it without our agreement, and after an hour we came down and it was missing. We waited 30 minutes before the manager and a staff member came back. Their behavior was insulting and ill-mannered, and the owner protected them when we complained. They denied intending anything, but where had they been for an hour and a half? The owner said it was our fault for giving the key. What are guests supposed to do when hotel staff ask for it because of parking? This is the worst guest house. This is my real account; I mistakenly posted from a new account because I didn’t have time to create a Gmail account just to review this place. The first day everything seemed okay, then yesterday staff asked for the key because of parking, and the second time they took it for the same reason. They have no parking area.

I came to Kolkata on 22 August through a reference. The receptionist said they could give me a large room, but the room I saw was only 6 × 6 and cost 1000 Rs. I checked in at 11:00 a.m.; after two days, checkout was at 11:15, and they charged me a 460 rupee late fee for being 15 minutes over. I accept that if it’s the hotel policy, but they told me rudely and treated me as if I were trying to run away. They showed me the rules, but seemed to forget their own room service standards: the bin was full and smelly, there was no AC remote or fan controller, the lights were dull, and the cupboard was dusty. No one came to service the room in two days. The lady I tried to reason with pressured me to pay and threatened to get rude. The Wi-Fi didn’t work and the TV had no channels, so it wasn’t worth the money. Please share rules, especially late checkout charges, before guests check in. Other reviews describe the same problem I had. Thank 🙏🙏
