Hotel Akash Ganga

I’ve stayed here lots of times, and things feel familiar and great. I’m a solo traveler, and I felt safe, including for single women traveling alone. The hotel is in the middle of town in Kolkata, with shopping nearby and airport services available 24/7. The reception staff are helpful, housekeeping and cleanliness are great, and the environment is lovely. The infrastructure is new and modular. There are lots of amenities, including Wi-Fi and room service, plus an in-house café. Travelers visiting Kolkata should check it out and enjoy the hospitality.

Things have improved over the last few years, and the place is nice. Room service still needs more work, though. It’s manageable overall, nobody’s perfect.

I feel sick now. The place was filthy, with dirty bedsheets, pillows and cases, blankets, curtains, and even the sofa. I paid 2500 for a deluxe room, but it didn’t feel worth even 500 rps. I used to come regularly because it was near my office, but standards have dropped a lot, and I won’t return. They let boys from the area use hookah and coil in the rooms, burning sofas and sheets, and staff don’t clean up properly. A big no for the future.

Yuck, the worst stay ever. The sheets were nasty, there were holes in the roof, and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. They didn’t even replace the water in the bucket. Worst, worst, worst experience.
