I was in Kolkata for my US visa biometrics and interview, and both the VAC center and interview location were within walking distance. That made the whole thing stress-free, with no traffic worries or need to find transport. Park Street is also close by, with nightlife, cafes, restaurants, shopping, and popular tourist spots nearby. The staff were polite, helpful, and respectful. The hotel has Wi-Fi, a lift, room service, and clean washrooms. My room was a bit small, but clean and comfortable enough to rest in, and the food tasted fresh and good. For the price, it’s budget friendly and worth the stay. A convenient option for short stays, solo travelers, sightseeing, or visa appointments. I’d recommend it if you want a budget hotel in a prime area. I stayed at Emirates Hotel in Kolkata and had a good experience overall.

Hotel Emirates, Kolkata denied my check-in for a one-night booking because my address is in Howrah. They said “local ID is not allowed,” though Howrah is a different district from Kolkata, not a local area. Someone from the hotel's own neighborhood might count as local, but turning away a guest from another district seems unreasonable. The policy wasn’t clearly explained in advance, and the refusal caused unnecessary inconvenience. I was very disappointed by the unprofessional handling. Hotels should be clearer and more considerate about check-in rules.

The staff's behavior was so disappointing, and they speak very rudely. They don't provide room service, and I would never come back, even if they offered a free room. The manager and GM both had disappointing behavior. The GM says he's the owner, and the manager says he's the hotel's owner.

I paid the full ₹3,000 booking amount and got no room, which honestly felt like being cheated. I booked for one night and arrived at 10 PM, after the official 12 PM check-in time. The listing said “local ID is not allowed,” which I understood, but I live in Howrah and the hotel is in Kolkata. They still counted me as local and refused check-in. My fiancée and I were left stranded on the road late at night. Goibibo support told me a refund depended on the hotel approving it, and the hotel refused. I lost the whole booking amount. If the hotel has such strict rules, it should clearly explain what “local” means instead of misleading people and leaving them stuck after arrival. One of my worst booking experiences. I’d strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this property.
