OYO SilverKey Deshapriya Park Near Kalighat Kali Temple

I stayed in Room 301 from 17-June-2022 to 18-June-2022. The room wasn’t like the one in the pictures. The AC leaked, the bathroom drain didn’t work well, and there were stains and marks on the walls. Staff behaved very badly too. I booked through Oyo and gave one star for these problems, then they refused to give me the bill. I asked repeatedly, but they said I’d given them one star and hung up on me. The hotel and management were the worst I’ve seen. A terrible experience.

For a medium budget hotel in Kolkata, this place is much better than others, and it’s tidy.

The location is very good, but the stay itself was bad. After I’d paid in full through Oyo, the unprofessional staff refused to check me in. We only got a room after calling Oyo, who called the hotel back and then they told us to come for check-in. The breakfast was a total waste, and they charged for it too. The room smelled, and the bed and mattress were really uncomfortable.

Deshapriya Park is very close, so this could be a good place to stay if you want to enjoy Durga Puja all night and be near the Deshapriya Park Durga Pandel. The hotel is newly built, but much of it is still under construction, and I’d call it average at best. The room is too small and unhygienic for what they charge for one night. You can expect a king size bed, a tea table but no tea maker, an average wardrobe, and an LED TV with some channels missing. There’s no dressing table, though they provide toothpaste, a toothbrush, soap, moisturizer, sanitizer, and complementary breakfast. The food quality is good. The receptionist is professional, but room service is pathetic and not professional. If you don’t specifically need to stay near Deshapriya Park, choose somewhere else.
