Breakfast was a highlight, with Indian and continental choices if you let them know the night before. Homemade dinner is also available when ordered before 4 PM, and it’s worth trying if you like simple home cooking. The staff were polite and helpful, though it’s a homestay, so the feel is more homely than hotel-like. We stayed as a couple in a clean, fresh room of about 100 sq ft with an attached bathroom, AC, TV, kettle, and hot and cold running water. Two big windows on different sides kept it bright and airy. The flat is on the 5th floor, nicely decorated, and surprisingly quiet despite being in Kolkata. Getting there can be a little tricky at first, but it’s a short walk from Exide More and Rabindra Sadan Metro Gate No. 01, down a narrow lane beside the BP Petrol Pump. We had a comfortable and pleasant stay at Red Arrow Residency.

The only real drawback was occasional noise from a nearby music venue, which sometimes interrupted my sleep. Otherwise, this is a quiet, secure guesthouse that’s good value and close to the metro for getting around Kolkata. They provide packaged water and tea and coffee facilities, plus a good breakfast. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient.

Even though it’s in the middle of the city, the place feels peaceful. The rooms are decent and have the necessary amenities, though the service could be a little better and more professional. It’s centrally located near hotel Hindustan International, with easy access to cabs, buses, and the metro, and Kolkata’s main markets are nearby.

The rooms are reasonably priced and include an excellent breakfast. Dinner is very good and feels like eating at home around the table, but you need to order from the fixed menu well in advance. It’s a small place tucked away, so careful directions help you find it. The hotel operates from apartments on the 2nd and 5th floors. Each bedroom has been turned into a guest room with plenty of hotel amenities, while the shared living and dining area still makes the place feel like an apartment rather than a hotel.
