The Mark Hotel

The food was good, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were polite and helpful too. The Mark Hotel is right in the busy heart of Kolkata, with Park Street and New Market close by, so it’s easy to explore the city. A comfortable, budget-friendly stay at a reasonable price. ✨🏨

I booked through Make my trip, and the whole stay felt smooth and high-quality. The location puts you right in the heart of the city’s best attractions, and the rooms were consistently neat, clean, and comfortable. The staff were professional from the moment I arrived and clearly attentive to guest satisfaction. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for luxury and convenience together.

The main plus is being near Park Street. The complimentary breakfast was okay for the price, and the suite rooms seem to have a slight difference, with a bathtub and balcony. That said, it wasn’t worth the price to me. The photos show presidential and suite rooms, but the other rooms aren’t worth more than 1000rs, or 1200 with breakfast. I didn’t feel this was safe for a family. The hotel is deep inside a lane, and the location and nearby businesses made things feel unsafe. Room categories and sizes were all the same while prices differed. Only the right-side rooms on the 4th floor seemed good. They said those were booked, though I saw only 2 or 3 guests during my entire stay. The bed linen was dirty, stained, and torn, and they didn’t change it. Rooms were unhygienic, with chipping wall paint and POP, and tobacco or other spit marks in many rooms. The mini fridge didn’t work. I checked 5 to 6 rooms on different floors, and they all smelled damp and smoky. There were lots of corridors and stairs hidden around the hotel, which felt scary. This is the first hotel I’ve seen charge for water. They don’t provide RO or regular filtered water, just two 500 ml bottles for the entire stay. The staff weren’t helpful. In one line, beware, it felt like a shady place. Look for another hotel and location.

The rooms were spacious and had a great vibe. The staff were really polite and professional. You can see in the pictures that I had a good experience. Definitely recommend this hotel.
